We will continue to engage and empower our associates to be purposeful, happy, healthy and inclusive. This includes offering more comprehensive wellness programs, enhanced flexible work policies, customized training on unconscious biases and development programs as well as creating transformative volunteering opportunities for our associates globally. We have a strong foundation of demonstrable success, and we will continue this important work.
We invest in our associates and empower their success through mentoring opportunities, training and ongoing professional development initiatives, wellness programs and community volunteering.
We also encourage and strongly support our associates’ actions to live healthy and active lifestyles, whether that’s participating in outdoor activities on weekends or joining an early morning meditation class. Many of our offices offer wellness programs and easy resources to help associates make healthy lifestyle choices, including onsite gyms, nutritious food options, annual health fairs, free biometric screenings, and local walk/run challenges, for example. We also offer the Be Fit for Life wellness program, which includes a variety of tools and resources to keep them and their families on the path to good health.
VF was named a Top Company for Leaders in North America by the Chief Executive Magazine for our focus on senior leadership mentoring and decision-making support.
VF associates are also encouraged to support their local communities by giving their time, expertise and financial resources to the causes they care about most. Many of our brands offer paid leave to participate in community volunteering opportunities. In fact, our commitment to being Movement Makers means that we create ample volunteerism opportunities for our associates and give them time away from work to lead by example. Our goal is to amass one million volunteer hours amongst our associates by 2025.
We measure the effectiveness of our associate engagement programs through our Voice of the Employee survey. The feedback collected enables us to continuously improve the associate experience at VF and deploy programs that enable us to meet the many needs of our diverse workforce. Additionally, the survey helps us understand how we are doing in terms of associate satisfaction overall. For example, our most recent survey revealed that 88 percent of associates are proud to work for VF and our brands and 80 percent would highly recommend employment at VF to a friend or relative.
